    Saleen Mustangs are now available                          

For about $70,000 you don’t have to wait till spring to get a Mustang that really does raise the bar over the GT model. This is the Saleen Mustang X281 Extreme, this car has it all a supercharged 550 horsepower engine and a design package that makes it look as hot as any model car you ever built as a kid.

Saleen actually builds three different versions of their modified Mustangs; they start at $42k, so you don’t actually have to spend $70,000 to get one. The cars themselves look similar with the large “Saleen” across the entire back, to see the specific differences go to saleen.com where you will also find the handful of Ford dealers who sell them. Their starter model the 281 3 valve gets 325 horsepower, their 281 Supercharged model gets 480 and of course, the heart stopping 550 horsepower for the extreme edition.

Soon there will be so many Mustangs on the road it will be hard to find yours in the parking lot, not so with a Saleen Mustang, the colors they paint the cars are much brighter making them much easier to find then factory Mustangs. For your additional $40k over the price of a GT you get racing spec brakes, a Saleen Racecraft suspension system, 20 inch custom 7 spoke wheels with Pirelli-P Zero tires, and race ready shocks and springs. These upgrades make the Saleen Mustangs a vehicle for both the race track and the highway.

More then just the success of the new retro Mustang automobile, it is clear that we are entering a new era, that of the trophy car. For the last ten years people have been scrambling to either buy or build trophy houses only to discover that it can cost a lot to heat and cool a 3000 sq. ft colonial. More importantly, unless you invite them over, people you meet don’t know anything about where you live.
